I'm Pieter Van den Bosch and I'm an Interaction Superhero! Or at least, that's how I feel when I'm creating interfaces that engage and captivate the online audience. No, there is no such thing as super coding powers, but with Flash as my sidekick, I can create interactive worlds where anything is possible! I am currently looking for a full-time position at an awesome company, so check my portfolio for a selection of my work at Design is Dead and feel free to contact me.
For as long as I can remember I wanted to be an inventor. As a kid I spent most of my time playing with Lego and taking things apart to discover how they work, so when we got our first computer, I was fascinated by its innovative potential. Within a week of its arrival I bought a book that introduced me to the basics of Flash and I took my first baby-steps to transform this buzzing black box into the most powerful toolbox I could imagine
I had so much fun with it that I enrolled in the Bachelor of Multimedia and Communication Technology at the Howest college in Kortrijk, where I immersed myself in hardcore mathematics, the basics of the whole Adobe Creative Suite, several programming languages [JAVA, .net, jsp, php, asp], Cinema4D and even embedded systems.
I could add more technologies and programs I've dabbled with to the list but Flash, my first tool, is what I advanced most in over the years. Its first attraction, the graphical side combined with its timeline and later augmented by Actionscript made it a killer combination for the work I love: beautiful design and engaging interactivity.
For the past two years I've been part of the Design is Dead crew, a fantastic team from which I've learned truly valuable lessons, most importantly collaboration is the key to success and an eye for detail is invaluable to achieve amazing results.
Of course there's music while working but you'll often find me reading comics, playing with the camera, exercising a teamsport or since recently kitesurfing. I dig a good laugh with my friends, cooking with my lovely girl but there are simply too many interests to sum up, because when you're easily fascinated you end up with a lot of interests and activities that keep you busy.
